Yuri Millo, M.D.
Director, Simulation and Training Environment Lab (SiTEL)

Yuri Millo M.D. is the Director of The Simulation and Training Environment Lab (SiTEL) at MedStar Health. Yuri’s main focus is education and training for the healthcare workforce using innovative technologies and a pedagogical approach for adult learners; he developed serious games such as Code Orange Simulator for emergency preparedness and a Treatment of Burn Patient Simulator known as “Burn 101”, motion capture tools for surgical skill trainers on an Xbox console, several procedure simulators, shell games for online and mobile healthcare education, and HDLS courses ( highly interactive hands on courses for low frequency, but high impact hospital events).

At SiTEL, Yuri oversees the development of SiTELMS the Learning and Content management system in use in several hundred hospitals nationwide, and the clinical Simulation Centers of SiTEL. Yuri is an active member in several organizations that promote simulation training including the American College of Surgeons, AIMS and SSIH. He served in the Israeli Air Force as Rescue Team Commander, educating new team members in CTLS and combat techniques and developing CBT to simulate military field medical procedures.

Yuri graduated from Caregi Faculty of Medicine, Florence, Italy. He did his residency in general and vascular surgery in Tel Aviv and plastic surgery in Jerusalem, Israel. He completed a fellowship in pediatric plastic surgery in Vancouver, BC Canada.
